The aim of this course is to:
- develop students’ ability to understand the spoken and written forms from a variety of registers;
- encourage students to communicate confidently, clearly and effectively through both the spoken and written word, using increasingly accurate, complex and varied language; develop students’ insights into, and encourage contact with, the contemporary society, cultural background, literature and heritage of Italy;
- provide a suitable foundation for further study and/or practical use of the foreign language.
The Italian Intermediate Examination is made up of one paper and an oral examination. The content includes:
- Listening Comprehension
- Interactive Conversation
- Topic presentation related to Italian Culture and Civilization
- Essay on a general topic
- Reading Comprehension
- Literature
