Some of the main aims of this course include:
- To recognize and identify French and understand simple greetings, classroom orders, letter sounds; eventually also leading to the speech production and ability to answer simple questions about one’s name, age etc
- to use simple greeting words, to say and spell one` s name and to pronounce the alphabet and vowels, colours, etc..
- to write words and short phrases and fill in simple exercises to revise greeting words, saying one` s name, colours, etc..
- to associate letter sounds and vocabulary to texts, pictures and images and to read short phrases concerning greetings, etc..
- to identify the symbols of France and to use colours for flag descriptions.
- Make students aware of the administrative divisions of France, guide them to situate the major cities (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, …) on the map and enable them to talk about the main attractions.

Form 4 and Form 5 courses in Italian will be in preparation for the Italian O Level Examination, which is made up of two papers and an oral examination. The content includes:
