The aim of this course is to stimulate and develop:
- intuition, imaginative and reasoning abilities
- critical and analytical faculties
- an experimental, reflective, and innovative approach through research and inventive use of materials and techniques
- the ability to clarify priorities, knowing what is to be expressed and making effective responses
- an understanding of the nature of visual thinking and of the appropriate skills for creative thought and action
- perception, understanding, and expression of concepts and feeling in visual and tactile form
- response to sensation/experience through concept formation in terms of ideas, thinking, feeling and remembering
- acquisition of a correct terminology relevant to art.
- appreciation and knowledge of the work of artists
Courses in Art will be in preparation for the Art O Level Examination, which is made up of two papers and coursework which includes a final project. The content includes:
- Work from Observation: Still-life or Human Figure
- Composition from a theme
